Prototyping Gallery

The following is the entire life cycle of a prototyping project. From initial design concept sketches from Drake Fenwick to fully completed figurine.

The figure is designed within Rhino, a 3D application chosen specifically because it produces solid NURBS objects. It makes for ideal design for the figure and resulting molds. Inverse molds are carved out of wax by a small CNC mill. Liquid silicone rubber fills the wax to form molds. Plastic resin is then cast from the latex molds. Finally the resin is cleaned and painted forming an assembled figure.
