Video Project Archive

In February of 2005 I was commissioned by a third party to produce an animated assembly guide video. This would be a three minute demonstration piece for a company that produces modular furniture similar to IKEA.

When offering demonstrations or scripts within the entertainment industry it is common to offer a sample based on the competitions product or TV show.

In the case here the competition is IKEA and the most simplistic modular product available is a round wooden end table.

The notion is that the guide is animated and shows the product in line style 3D. It could be played on the TV and paused so that you could follow along and assemble the piece of furniture. By keeping it animated you can see the parts from all angles. The line style was chosen because it mimics the standard look of modular furniture instruction guides.

The animated piece was created in less than a week and published onto mini DVDs.
